| ThereGoesTheBride.Com is the website for women and men
with cold feet or broken engagements.
We look forward to providing you with a space to vent,
be comforted, and learn from others.
We're here for you. A PayPal account has been set up for donations to help support the site. (The buttons are on the homepage and in the forums.) Ten percent of all donations go to Women in Need (www.women-in-need.org); the rest are revenue for Rachel. Donations are completely voluntary and are greatly appreciated.
Take a look around and let us know what you think. We're here for you.
RULES FOR POSTING ON THEREGOESTHEBRIDE.COM
This is a safe haven for women and men with cold feet and broken engagements. There are no fees and no hoops to jump through to post. The Moderators retain the right to revoke posting privileges. When a moderator wishes to close a thread or delete a poster (see below), she or he will enter the site under Rachel's screen name, HappilyEverAfter. Rachel is on the boards much less than her crack team of moderators, so if you have a question you need answered ASAP, give a shout-out to a team member.
NEW RULE:
Before asking personal questions of others, we now ask that you please 'introduce' yourself, however briefly. Let us know you're a newbie and what brings you our way. We're glad to be here for you!
OLDIES BUT STILL GOODIES:
1. Be kind. If you incite havoc, your post will be ditched & you could lose your posting privileges.
2. Curse creatively. That means curse the way they do in the comics: *&^%$ etc. Replacing a letter of an epithet won't cut it. The Moderators will censor cursing. This is a tough, passionate time for all, and we don't want the boards to degenerate into curse-fests. Approved 'curse' words are pretty much just hell, damn, ass and crap. Others, including colorful descriptions of sexual acts, should be avoided. Many thanks.
3. Members of the media must email Rachel at writer_safier@yahoo.com before posting media requests. Requests posted without prior approval will be taken down. Journalists/authors/writers of term papers are kindly requested not to email posters without approval. If you do, we'll post on the site that you are not approved and then where will that get you? Similarly, posters should forward unsolicited emails to writer_safier@yahoo.com and not reply to the sender. This is for your own safety and the safety of the site. Thank you for understanding.
4. If The Moderators post that a thread is now closed, it's closed. We do this when tempers flare or it all gets too nutty. If you post in a closed thread, your post will be deleted and you run the risk of having posting privileges revoked. Same goes for warnings from a Moderator. If you are asked to cease and desist, and don't...
5. By posting, you are tacitly agreeing not to hurt yourself. Emotions run high in a broken engagement and suicide is NEVER the answer. If you need help, we are here for you. For further help, see the Resources section of the site.
6. Stalking of exes is NOT allowed. If posters think your behavior is getting creepy, believe me, they'll tell you. If a Moderator insist you leave your ex alone and you don't, you'll lose posting privileges. We are here to vent and figure it all out. Violence is NEVER the answer.
7. Trolls are notoriously hard to purge. If you suspect a troll, please don't reply to his/her post. Ignoring those who crave attention is the best way to keep situations from ratcheting up.
8. If you have an issue with a poster, please email him or her privately instead of flaming. We hate flaming.
PLEASE NOTE: Chat rooms are a wonderful resource but we at TGTB cannot vouch for everyone here. Please guard your privacy and remember that for every 100 wonderful people online, there is a one weirdo out there. If you choose to talk one-on-one with someone from a chat room, we urge you to do so by email or IM and not give out your phone number. If you make plans to meet up with someone from online, please do so in a public place. We are not asking you to live scared, just smart.
